Rachel Shea Beck - Jewelry Artist.

My name is Rachel Beck. I am a native New Yorker now living in Augusta, Georgia. I am a predominantly self-taught jewelry artist.

I have been making jewelry of one sort or another for as long as I can remember, over 35 years. As a child I worked with whatever materials were readily available: paper, plastics, old wires, beads and scrap metal.

As a teenager, I took several formal classes in jewelry making at the YMHA in New York City, but most of my skills have been, and will continue to be, gathered from both research and good old trial and error.

I like to play with color and texture, and let the metals guide me in making them into the objects they wish to become. I hope you enjoy the results of my ongoing creative exploration.
